They are cut with triangular facets by qualified artisans.

You can see that by the quality of the edges. They are cut exactly and sharply. Consequently they give a perfect specular reflection of the spectral colours from the reflected light.

This high quality cut can't be compared to pressed glass of inferior quality glass balls. Uncutted glass beads develop very few or even no sparkle at all.

The high amount of lead (30 %) creates a nice sparkle as soon as light comes in. Make a test yourself with sunlight or halogen lamp (generates best results)
